You will spend almost one-third of your lifetime sleeping. It is therefore important that you make the right decision when choosing your bed.
Sleep Council http://www.sleepcouncil.org.uk/
provides great advice, which will help you to pick the right mattress and bed. We have summarised some of the key points for you:
As you research your purchase, consider the following:
Decide on your priorities and concerns in advance. For example: size, storage, budget, access to your bedroom and design.
What sort of style do you prefer?
What do you like or dislike about your current bed?
Do you prefer a firmer or softer feel?
The price is right: More often than not, you get what you pay for. Always look for the best value, not the lowest price. Of course, there are some perfectly acceptable lower priced beds available, but the better the mattress construction, the better the support and comfort and the longer the bed will last.
Together is better: Buy your mattress and divan base together. The two are designed to work together. Changing the base will affect the feel and performance of the mattress.
Think big: Larger beds are more comfortable. Being disturbed by your partner is one of the most common sleeping complaints. With a larger bed you are less likely to disturb one another. You should be able to lie side by side, with your arms behind your head and your elbows out, without touching. Your bed should also be 10-15cm longer than the tallest partner.
Access all areas: If you are worried about getting the bed upstairs, remember our divans have split bases. To avoid problems with delivery, you should understand any potential access problems (narrow staircases, tight corners etc.) before you buy. Please check the terms and conditions.
