CAN I TRY THE BED BEFORE I BUY?

Cotton&Co aim to provide customers with the best value by not spending money running a shop. We reflect the savings in the prices we offer our customers. However from time to time we will have pop-up showrooms in Warsaw. Please contact us via email (info@cottonco.pl) to find out about our showroom locations and appointment availability.

DO THE MATTRESSES HAVE DIFFERENT FIRMNESS?

Whilst the feeling, softness and firmness of a mattress is very subjective, we have deliberately selected our range to provide the customer with choice.

1000 Pocket Springs: Medium Soft

1500 Pocket Springs: Medium

2000 Pocket Springs: Medium Firm

Interactive Pocket Springs: Medium and Medium Firm (dual feel)

3500 Pocket Springs: Firm

WHAT BED AND MATTRESSES IS BEST FOR ME?

The first thing you have to consider is the size of your room. Our first recommendation is to take the largest bed that practically fits the bedroom. Our view is that the bed should be the focal point of the room, both in terms of design and practical use. Once you have your size consider storage solutions. The design of our storage solutions are fully flexible and provide you with optimum space for storage. Consider the orientation of the room, where draws can easily be accessed from. If you have bedside tables you may wish to go for the 2+2 Drawers (rather than 4 Drawers) so that the drawers by the bedside tables can be used regularly.

Next it is the hardest choice – which mattresses type?

We essentially have two price ranges. The classic range  1000, 1500 and 2000 which should be selected based on the firmness/softness you desire. All the mattresses include one line of pocket springs with natural fillings and two lines of hand stitching – a quintessentially British technique of bed making.  And then supreme range, which have two different approaches. The Interactive Pocket Springs is in our view the best all round mattress, suitable for couples of different weights, with the two tier Argo spring system giving the optimum support for both people simultaneously - The lighter person is supported by the taller softer springs and the heavier by the lower firmer springs. The 3500 Pocket Springs is our most luxurious mattress, with two lines of pocket springs, three lines of hand stitching and packed with the highest weigh of natural materials. As a result the feel is firm, with very high levels of support. We suggest that this mattress is perfect with a thick topper to compliment the supportive qualities with initial softness.

The feeling of a mattress is very subjective, however we typically find that heavier people prefer firmer mattresses. We can of course recommend all of our beds and mattresses as we have personally selected the range. Please note that it is possible to make firmer mattresses feel softer, using a topper or protector, but it is not possible to make soft mattresses feel firmer. Also the British typically use softer mattresses that Continental Europeans. Our advice is, if in doubt between two firmness’s, go with the slightly firmer option.

Then the material colour and headboard design is completely up to you, we have lots of options to meet your design requirements.

WHAT CAN I STORE  IN THE BED DRAWERS?

The bedding drawers offer a large amount of storage space, without compromising the design of the bed. The drawers are constructed to a high specification, but have their limits. We would recommend the drawers are used for storing of bed linen, clothes or towels etc. Please do not fill these draws with books!

WHAT MATTRESSES DO YOU SLEEP ON?

We sleep on a Super King Size Interactive Pocket Spring mattress and also have a King Size 1500 Pocket Spring Mattress in our second bedroom. We are both quite tall, but very different in weights (60kg and 100 kg) and enjoy space when we sleep. For these reasons we wanted medium firm feel and due to weight variance felt the Interactive Pocket Spring  works best for both of us.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I CAN'T TAKE DELIVERY OF MY BED ON THE AGREED DATE?

If you accept a delivery date that you then cannot meet the driver, you will have to cover the costs of re-delivery and storage.

IS ASSEMBLY EASY?

Very easy. It should take two people no more than 30 minutes. The divan sets come in just two parts (drawers are fully assembled). You will simply need insert the Glides x8 (bed legs) into the prepared holes on the bottom of the divan set (tapping in a hammer, slide the divan bases into position and attach them using the latch. The headboard slides into position and screws are tightened to fix. The mattress simply sits on top of the divan set. Assembly complete! We have prepared a very short instruction booklet, which can be found on our website.

IS YOUR MANUFACTURE NATIONAL BED FEDERATION APPROVED?

Yes. The National Bed Federation is the recognised trade association representing UK manufacturers of beds and mattresses, and their suppliers. They have established a code of practice to ensure the that any mattress you buy from an approved member will be honest, clean and safe.

In order to become approved our manufacture has undergone rigorous testing to ensure you as the consumer know precisely what you are buying.

HOW DO I CARE FOR MY MATTRESS?

The main consideration for caring for your mattress is turning, flipping and rotating it, to ensure that the natural fillings settle in a flat uniform manner. We recommend turning, flipping and rotating the mattress  once every two weeks (when you change your sheets), especially in the two years of ownership. The mattress can be turned and flipped in to one of four ways and therefore the pressure can be spread evenly as the natural fillings with the mattress settle. All mattresses need rotating, however the more natural fillings they have, the higher the quality they are and the more there is a need to ensure the settlement is even.

We also highly recommend the use of a mattress topper or protector. The use of which will greatly extend the life of your mattress and enhance the overall top layer softness, whilst allowing the mattress to provide the support your body needs to get a perfect night’s sleep. Along with your bed sheets, a topper or protector will also guard the mattress from natural perspiration.

The mattress can be cleaned using specialised upholstery products or specialised companies.

HOW LONG WILL MY MATTRESS LAST?

If you take good care of your mattress, rotate it regularly (especially in the first two years), the mattress should last a long time - in excess of 7 years and even as long as 10 years.

CAN YOU ARRANGE FOR BESPOKE ORDERS – DIFFERENT SIZES, DIFFERENT COLOURS ETC.?

CAN I ORDER A WINGED HEADBOARD IN ANY STYLE?

Yes. Whilst we only specifically show the winged headboard in the Paris style as this is the most popular, we can add the wings to any design in our range. Please see the pricing for the Paris (winged) as a guide. Please contact us via email (info@cottonco.pl) with your enquiry.

WHY DO YOU ONLY SELL FLOOR STANDING HEADBOARDS?

Quality. The floor standing headboard are of a significantly higher quality than those on a timber bed fixing. Quality headboards are quite heavy and the weight should be dispersed to the floor for extra stability. In our opinion those headboards on timber bed fixings are weak, fragile and prone to breaking. Therefore we only offer floor standing headboards to ensure that our customers are happy. Should you wish for headboards on timber bed fixing, please give us a call and we will talk you out of it.

WILL MY IKEA MATTRESS FIT ON YOUR DIVAN SET?

Ikea use sizes completely different to most bed producers. Whilst they have adapted their policy in the UK, the mattresses sold in Poland will not fit perfectly on British made divan sets. The only match is the Ikea 180cm x 200cm, which will fit on our King Size divan.

DO YOU LIKE IKEA?

We like the innovation Ikea has brought to the furniture market and are fond of many of their designs, especially the functionality of their kitchens. We like the long term relationship Ikea has with Poland. We own a substantial amount of Ikea furniture and are regular customers. However in our personal opinion we do not rate or like the quality of the mattresses and feel much better value for money can be found with traditional British made mattresses.
